The Isenheim Altarpiece and a Theology of Ugly

So, I’ve been exploring the blogopshere of late and just stumbled upon Dr. Richard Beck’s blog Experimental Theology.  It’s awesome all over, but I was particularly thrilled by this discussion of the theological statements behind the Isenheim Altarpiece (which I’ve posted about before), which features some gorgeous (grotesque?) close-ups of the work.  Check it out.

Especially you, Nicole.
